Heaven Can Wait and Bend Surgery Center

Bend Surgery Center is participating in the annual Heaven Can Wait 5K walk/run. This event draws hundreds together with a shared mission to raise funds for Sara’s Project, a fund of St. Charles Foundation. Sara’s Project provides education, early detection and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon.

This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 1, at the Redmond High School football stadium. Registration is now open! Join us for this year's event and register in person at Bend Surgery Center through Sept. 27, 2023. Bend Surgery Center is a proud presenting sponsor and will be having a team of about 25 staff members participate from 8:30am to noon. We encourage other organizations to join and bring your team. Heaven Can Wait was founded in 2000 by Charlene Levesque, a breast cancer survivor. Charlene's diagnosis prompted Central Oregon Running Klub (CORK) to begin formulating the idea of a women's event that would promote early detection of cancer and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.
